History
Government Islamia Degree College started working as Islamia High School in June 1956. Anjuman-e-Islamia Kasur enjoys the distinction of establishing it. The college was upgraded to Degree Level in 1963. The college was shifted to its present campus in the vicinty of Kasur Gardens after 1971 Indo-Pak war. The college was nationalised in 1972. Since then, the college and its staff members have been rendering meritorious services to the sacred cause of nation building.
Our Staff
We have an experienced and dedicated group of 65 teachers and administrators. Each teacher strives to create a supportive and challenging classroom atmosphere to encourage students to participate. We may introduce a teacher on this page, or have a teacher of the month feature like the one below. The institution posess strong intellectualism as well as literal identity. Our teachers are endeavouring for physical, mental, social and moral education of young men of next generation. Alhamdulillah, ex-college students are serving the nation in many fields. Our prime intrest is in educating people as Good Muslim as well as Good Pakistani, they can actively participate in nation building process. Curricular as well as extra-curricular activities are held in routine in college campus to achieve this object. College holds so many functions focusing on National as well as Religious Importance, i.e., Pakistan Day, Defence Day, Quaid-e-Azam Day, Iqbal Day, Seerat-un-Nabi (PBUH), Ramadhan-ul-Mubarak, Qura`n, Annual Sports, Annual Prize Distribution Day, etc. Different International and National Scholars as well as Intellectuals are invited to address these functions.
Our Objectives
The institution posess strong intellectual as well as literal identity. We are striving for upgradation of our institutionn at Post Graduate Level. But for that we need anxiously a Post Graduate Block. Efforts are under way for this objective. We see towards high quarters for help in this regard.
Teacher of the Month 
This month's featured teacher is Prof. Amjad Ali Chaudhary. Amjad is teaching at our College for over five years. While he enjoys teaching all classes of students, he is currently the teacher of our Inter & Bachelor Sections. Amjad is married with one child of his own.
